What to Expect at Grace Bible Presbyterian Church
Visiting a church for the first time can feel uncertain. We hope the following information will help you know what to expect when you visit Grace Bible Presbyterian Church.
1. What happens during worship?
Our worship is reverent, joyful, and centered on God's Word. A typical service includes a call to worship from Scripture, prayer, congregational hymns, the Lord's Prayer, the Doxology and Gloria Patri, Scripture reading, pastoral prayer, and an expositional sermon, a closing hymn, and the benediction.
The sermon ordinarily works through a passage of Scripture, explaining its meaning and showing how it applies to our faith and everyday lives.
2. How long is the service?
Our morning worship service begins at 11:00 a.m. and ordinarily lasts approximately one hour.
3. What should I wear?
Please come in whatever clothing allows you to worship comfortably. Some people wear suits or dresses, while others wear slacks, polos, or more casual clothing. You do not need to dress a certain way to attend Grace.
4. Where should I park and enter?
Grace Bible Presbyterian Church is located at 1 Church Lane in Cape Canaveral, next to Twistee Treat. Turn onto Church Lane beside Twistee Treat and park in the church parking lot.
The main church building has entrances at both the front and back. You may enter through either entrance and someone will be glad to welcome you and help you find the sanctuary.
5. Are children welcome?
Yes! Children and infants are welcome to remain with their families throughout the worship service. We are glad to have them worship with us, and parents should not feel embarrassed if a young child makes some noise.
A nursery area is also available for parents who need to step out of the sanctuary with their children. The service is simulcast into the nursery so parents can continue watching and listening.
Sunday School begins at 9:45 a.m. We offer an adult Sunday School class, which is open to adults and older children, as well as a separate class for elementary-aged children. Visitors are welcome to attend either Sunday School or morning worship, or both.
6. Will visitors be singled out?
No, we will greet you warmly, but visitors are not asked to stand, speak, or introduce themselves during the service. You are welcome to follow along as you feel comfortable, and we would enjoy meeting you before or after worship.
7. What does "Bible Presbyterian" mean?
Bible means that we believe the Bible is the inspired and trustworthy Word of God and our final authority for faith and life.
Presbyterian describes our form of church government. Our congregation is shepherded by a pastor and elders elected by the congregation. We stand in the historic Reformed tradition, with our beliefs summarized in the Westminster Confession of Faith.
Most importantly, we proclaim the good news that sinners are saved by God's grace through faith in Jesus Christ. We seek to be biblical in worship, Reformed in doctrine, evangelistic in outreach and missionary in scope.

8. Who is the pastor?
Our pastor is Rev. James D. Blizzard. Pastor Jim holds a Master of Divinity from Western Reformed Seminary and previously served for sixteen years with Child Evangelism Fellowship. He grew up in the Bible Presbyterian Church and is the grandson of Dr. James L. Blizzard, Grace's founding pastor.
Pastor Jim and his wife, Amanda, have six children. His desire is to see the church grow in grace, love, and the knowledge of Jesus Christ.
9. What time should I arrive?
Morning worship begins at 11:00 a.m. We recommend arriving by 10:40 or 10:45 so you have time to park, meet someone, and find a seat without feeling rushed.
Sunday School concludes around 10:30 a.m., followed by a fellowship time with coffee and light refreshments from 10:30 to 10:55. Visitors are warmly invited to arrive early and join us.
Those attending Sunday School should arrive shortly before 9:45 a.m.
Monthly Fellowship Meal - We ordinarily share a fellowship meal after morning worship on the second Sunday of each month. Visitors are invited to stay and enjoy the meal with us.
